Day trip to Brandenburg an der Havel

Our conflicting issues of never ending wanderlust and near poverty mean we make a lot of compromises. While we dream of trying not to break ourselves on the ski slopes of the Czech Republic, we settle for a day trip anywhere out of Berlin. And if anywhere looks like this ---------------->
we have no right to complain.

Brandenburg an der Havel is a medieval town located about an hour away from Berlin (about 60 kilometers west) by train and lies in the state of Brandenburg on the River Havel - hence the name. A quiet village with a rich history and many historical sites, the town was the ideal day trip from Berlin.

Spending Spree!

We spend so much time being frugal, always kinda freaks me out when we actually spend some euros. But we did spend our Saturday getting some super cool stuff:

postcards (sorry for anyone who hasn't gotten one. Complain & one will be sent)
Calendar -yes we are that cheap that we wait until after Jan 1st. Berlin 1900s for 7 euro!
Bottle opener- in the shape of the German Eagle (had Ian's name all over it)
Thia food fixins - twas one of our best Asian inspired dishes ever

One of the many nice things about Berlin is the bi-monthly magazine Zitty. It has articles about interesting things happening in Berlin as well as listings for all events that are within that issue's two week time frame.
