Fussballpossen: Soccer Antics

For about the last two weeks, the Europameisterschaft (European Championships) has been sweeping through Europe causing ex-pats such as ourselves to watch more soccer than we ever had in our lives. As the EM progresses further, so does the crazy antics of the common German citizen. Tonight, Germany takes on Portugal in the quarterfinals, and the loser goes home! Two out of three cars have German flags waving from their windows, and balconies all across Berlin are covered in black, red, and gold colors of German glory. Naturally even the news is caught up in the hysteria. We just got done witnessing a reporter get his hand licked by a crazed German teenager, while he "tried" to interview a woman in a stadium filled with fans about to watch the big game on a huge television screen.
